League Rules
This is a bit of a weird league, which is intended, so carefully read through the rules and settings on the league page!
Draft
- Draft will be held online via Yahoo!
- There will be a live draft. Set your rankings if you can’t make it
- Draft is snake
- Draft position is chosen by teams based on their previous season standings:
- 1st Choice- Last Place
- 2nd Choice- 9th Place
- 3rd Choice- Consolation Bracket Winner (5th Place)
- 4th Choice- Consolation Bracket 2nd Place (6th Place)
- 5th Choice- Consolation Bracket 3rd Place (7th Place)
- 6th Choice- Consolation Bracket 4th Place (8th Place)
- 7th Choice- 3rd Place
- Note: 3rd & 4th place pick before 1st & 2nd place
- 8th Choice- 4th Place
- 9th Choice- 2nd Place
- 10th Choice- 1st Place
- NOTE: If a team accumulates 8 or more "Blunders" (see below) over the course of a season for starting inactive players or backups, they will be moved down one spot in draft choice order. This is an anti-tanking measure.
- League dues are voted on before the season
- For the 2026 season dues are $35
- Dues can be paid to commish via cash/venmo/zelle
- Dues are paid at the end of the season
- If a manager trades down in next year's draft they must pay the dues for the next year at that time
- If Dues are not paid after the season, then manager can be removed from league
- The winner of the Survivor Pool will have their dues payed by other participants
- Payout Structure:
- Champion: $135
- 2nd Place: $65
- 3rd Place: $55
- 4th Place: $45
- Top Scorer: $50
- A player is classified as Kept, Drafted, or Undrafted
- Kept if the player was designated a keeper from the previous season
- Drafted if the player was drafted during the most recent annual draft
- Undrafted if the player was not kept or drafted
- 4 Keepers allowed per team, per year, you do not have to have a keeper
- Draft pick required to keep a player:
- First year kept - same round player was previously drafted
- Note: - If a player is Drafted, then dropped and acquired by another team, the player’s status is still Drafted.
- Second year kept - 1 round higher than previously drafted, third year is a round higher than that, etc. (e.g. if player is kept in 5th round, the second year kept he would be a 4th round pick, the third year would be a 3rd round pick)
- Starting in the 2022 draft, a team can only keep the same player in the first round for two consecutive years.
- Round loss caps at 1st round (In the example above, the fourth year of keeping that player would cost a 1st round pick. The fifth year kept would also be a 1st round pick.)
- Team is required to have draft pick available to keep a player
- Higher round pick required if draft pick is unavailable (e.g. if team wants to keep a 5th rounder but does not have a 5th round pick, the cost would be a 4th round pick)
- To keep two players drafted in the same round you need to forfeit a pick in the round those players were drafted and your next highest pick (e.g. You want to keep two 5th rounders. You forfeit your 5th rounder and a 4th rounder. If you have no 4th rounder, then you would lose a third rounder. If you have no 5th round picks you would owe two picks 4th round pick)
- In order to keep more than one 1st round pick, a team would have to acquire an additional 1st round pick.
- Undrafted players can now be kept at the cost of your latest non-kept draft pick.
- Teams can trade players prior to the draft. After the keeper deadline only kept players can be traded. Draft picks can be traded at any time.
- Keeper Submission
- Commissioner will email league with keeper deadline.
- Keepers are submitted through Yahoo
- Commissioner will reject keepers if you have not traded for multiple 1st round picks while attempting to keep multiple 1st round drafted player.
- Player's keeper price will reset only if the their status reverts to Drafted/Undrafted.
- Keeper Rescission
- You may rescind a keeper after the keeper deadline.
- This can be done up until the day before the league draft. Call league commissioner to ensure this change is applied. If you can't get a hold of him in time, you might be out of luck.
- Trades can be submitted via Yahoo.
- Trades take 1 Day before they are processed
- Trades can be protested if there is collusion suspected
- If a trade is grossly unfair but both teams agree to it, it cannot be protested unless collusion is suspected.
- Draft picks for the following season can be traded, but an equal amount of picks need to be exchanged by each team.
- Trade deadline is: November TDB
- Max Acquisitions for Entire Season: None
- No ‘Can't Cut List’
- Waiver Type is FAB
- Reverse order of standings tiebreak
- QB, QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/R/T, K, DEF
- BN (7), IR (3)
- Negative and fractional points
- PPR is only .25 per catch
- Kicker points are heavily altered including negatives for misses
- Passing Touchdowns are 5 points instead of 4
- Return Yards are 1 point per 25 yards
- Please check full scoring, this is just a summary of some nonstandard scoring.
- Week 16 and 17 (4 teams)
- Consolation brackett (4 teams)
- Last two teams will NOT be locked during playoffs and will play each other twice in the Toilet Bowl. Last place is still decided by overall record and points
- Every week I will track “Blunders.” These are obvious mistakes made by Managers. If you accumulate 8 or more “Blunders” over the course of a season for starting inactive players (who weren't surprise inactives) or backups, your team will be moved down one spot in draft selection order. This is an anti-tanking measure.
- If you think your move should not be a blunder, contact the commissioner
- The survivor pool is voluntary
- Survivor pool rules
- The winner of the pool has their dues covered by the other pool participants
- If a manager leaves the league during the season, or a manager ignores their team
- A team is “ignored” if a manager does not make any moves/lineup changes (when doing so results in Blunders) for 8 consecutive weeks
- Contact with manager will be attempted before takeover
- Commissioner and one other manager will run team
- The other manager is a volunteer unless no one steps up. In this case, a manager will be assigned by commissioner
- Commissioner will set lineups based on Yahoo projections
- Waiver claims will only be made in case of injury. Second manager will audit this process to make sure Commissioner is dropping/picking up appropriate players
- No trades for taken over team
- Shrunken Head Championship Trophy
-
- A ranking per season out of 100 using these categories:
- Blunders (10%)
- 0 = 10 Points
- 1 = 5 Points
- 2 = 3 Points
- 3-7 = 1 point
- 8+ = 0 Points
- Total Points (30%)
- Top scorer = 10 Points
- Etc (Except 9-10th place. They get 1-0 points respectively)
- Regular Season Standings (30%)
- #1 Seed = 10 Points
- Etc (Except 9-10th place. They get 1-0 points respectively)
- Final Standings (30%)
- Same as regular season standings
- Team names and logos will be locked at the start of the first game of the season
- If you wish to leave after the season, please let me know. Don’t delete your team, we’ll find someone to transfer it to!
- Starting from the 2020 season, the last place team will have their name voted on by the rest of the league.
- The last place team must pick a second punishment from a list devised by the rest of the league.
- During Rivalry Week teams may set a side wager with their rival. It can be for pretty much anything that isn't a game mechanic (No players, picks, etc). Let the league know what's on the line. This is not mandatory. If the bet isn't paid by the loser, they are lame, and automatically get 8 extra blunders
